Your terminal and SSH sessions, on every screen.

Termit is a free, fast terminal and SSH client with tabs and split panes — on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS, with none of them treated as second best. Work from your phone or tablet on the go just as you would at your main workstation. Keys, hosts and passwords stay encrypted on your device, and nowhere else.

# Features

Everything a terminal should do, designed to scale from a phone to a triple-monitor desk — and to feel just as capable on both.

  • Tabs & split panes

Split any pane right or down — even into a different server — drag to resize, cycle focus from the keyboard. Every tab keeps running while you work elsewhere.

  • SSH that stays connected

Saved hosts with groups and tags, or quick connect with user@host:port. Dropped connections come back on their own when the network does — and with tmux, right where you left off.

  • Keys, your way

Generate Ed25519, ECDSA or RSA keys, or import the ones you have: OpenSSH, PEM, PKCS#8 and PuTTY .ppk. Keep a passphrase on a key if you like.

  • Brings your ~/.ssh along

On the desktop, Termit offers to import your OpenSSH config, keys and known hosts — with a preview, and nothing imported you did not tick.

  • Local shells too

PowerShell and every WSL distribution on Windows, your login shell on macOS and Linux, and Termux or UserLAnd on Android.

  • Saved passwords at the prompt

When sudo asks, Termit offers the host's saved password. It types only when you click — never on its own.

  • Keyboard first

Windows Terminal-style shortcuts for tabs, panes and zoom — fully remappable, with a menu for everything when there is no keyboard.

  • Made for touch too

Pinch to zoom, an extra-keys bar with Esc, Tab, Ctrl, arrows and F-keys, and layouts that adapt to phones, tablets and Samsung DeX.

  • Themes & fonts

Terminal Dark and Light, One Dark Pro, Solarized, Monokai and Aubergine; JetBrains Mono, Cascadia, Fira and IBM Plex Mono built in. Per host, if you want.

# Platforms

Every platform is a first-class one. No cut-down mobile edition: one app, the same features, shortcuts and security everywhere — so fixing a server from your phone on the train feels like doing it at your desk.

  • Windows10 & 11 · PowerShell, WSL & SSH
  • macOSYour login shell & SSH
  • LinuxX11 & Wayland · local shell & SSH
  • AndroidPhones, tablets, Samsung DeX · stays connected in the background

# Zero-trust by default

Your credentials are the most sensitive thing on your machine. Termit treats them that way.

Encrypted at rest
Hosts, keys, passwords and settings are stored with AES-256-GCM, under a key held by your system's keystore — DPAPI, Keychain, Android Keystore or Secret Service. Copied off the device, the files are unreadable.
App lock the OS enforces
Lock Termit behind Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint, Windows Hello or your device PIN — the system itself withholds the key until you pass. Or use a Termit password, stretched with Argon2id. Auto-lock after the time you choose.
Secrets only for a moment
A private key or saved password is decrypted only for the instant it is needed, then wiped. Copied passwords are marked as secret, so clipboard history and managers skip them, and are cleared after 30 seconds.
Servers verified, every time
Unknown host keys are shown before you connect; a server whose key has changed is refused unless you replace it yourself.
No cloud, no account
Nothing is sent anywhere without your say-so. Back up or move your setup with a password-protected backup file you keep.
